How it works

Designed around informed, voluntary decisions.

The platform supports introductions. Medical eligibility and transplant decisions remain with licensed transplant programs.

01

Create a profile

Patients share their need and story. Potential donors provide only the information needed to begin.

02

Explore and connect

Search by organ, location, blood type, and profile details, then initiate a private connection.

03

Work with a transplant center

Independent clinical teams perform screening, consent, compatibility testing, and follow-up.

Choose your path

Start with the experience that fits you.

You can save your progress and return at any time. Sensitive medical information should only be shared through approved clinical channels.

Our mission

Make hope easier to find—and safer to pursue.

DonorLink is a design prototype inspired by the public information architecture of an established nonprofit matching service. It is not affiliated with that organization and does not process real medical data.

Common questions

Start with the facts.

Does registering guarantee a transplant?

No. Registration may help people connect, but only a transplant center can determine medical eligibility, compatibility, and whether a transplant proceeds.

Can a living donor be paid?

No. Buying or selling human organs is illegal in the United States. Legitimate programs may discuss allowable expense reimbursement; ask an independent donor advocate.

What is paired kidney exchange?

It can connect incompatible donor–recipient pairs with other pairs so compatible donations can occur in a coordinated exchange.

How is private information protected?

Public profiles should show only consented information. Medical records and sensitive contact details belong in secure, access-controlled clinical systems.
